Purchasing a Puppy from MnJ Poodles

Step 1)  If you are interested in purchasing a puppy from MnJ Poodles, please begin by filling out our questionaire.  We want you to know we are not going to “flunk” you based on your answers, but we just want to make sure we help guide you in being matched with the best possible puppy for your lifestyle and needs.  It is important that you are honest and can give us as much information as possible.  For example, a more medium energy might not be suitable for toddlers or elderly but often hold up better to chidren in say the 4-8 age range that might be too much for a puppy that prefers a more quiet environment.  We do understand that just because someone doesn’t live in a house with huge yard that they can’t still offer a highly desirable home for one of our puppies.

Step 2)  Once you have fill out our questionaire, we will get in touch with you and proceed from there.  When the litter you are interested in purchasing arrives, the next step is to place a deposit which IS refundable until you place a particular puppy on hold.  Some buyers prefer to send a deposit ahead of the litter being born if they have something particular they want as we do pick order based on order of applications and deposits recieved.

Step 3)  Picking out your puppy – At around 6-7 weeks we will schedule a time for everyone to come and meet the puppies.  We schedule this around what times work best for as many as possible as well as where the puppies are in development.  We will not place a puppy on hold before they are old enough for us to make a good assessment of temperaments.  Remember, placing a puppy on hold means you are committed to purchasing that puppy, you’ve made sure it’s a good time to bring a new puppy home, you’ve set aside time to train and get puppy on a great start and feel certain you have made the right choice.  Placing a particular puppy on hold means the deposit is now a non-refundable hold fee and will be applied toward final purchase price of puppy.

Step 4)  Puppies will not be released to owners without our Contract/Bills of Sale filled out fully and must be original copy and signatures.  Almost all of our buyers are able to come to our house in person for pick up and can bring the original copy with them.  However, if you have opted to use a Flight Nanny, we must have puppies paid in full and the contract original in hand before the will be released.  You will have to mail us the copy so make sure you allow time for snail mail.

What is included with puppy:  Your puppy will have been raised using various well researched methods such as Puppy Culture and Avid Dog which means they will be well started on potty training and socialization as well as desensitation to various situations like loud noises and startle recovery. We will provide you with your own copy of the Bill of Sale/Contract, a health recored that included what vaccinations have been done, a certificate of health from our vet that included their signature, license number, and contact info all of which will be on their official form, some of the food we have already been feeding puppy, and we usually provide various other goodies that vary depending on what we find at different times.

Health testing is on our website but we are more than happy to provide copies of all test results to anyone requesting this to be included in puppy packet.
